By carrying out this project, we hope to raise awareness of European values and civic consciousness among young people from the MFRs, who are mainly young people from rural areas with little mobility and little information about what is happening outside their area of life. This project should help these young people to understand the environmental, social and political issues at stake, and to become players rather than spectators, by meeting decision-makers and confronting them with the realities of their Polynesian counterparts, who are far removed from the postcard images conjured up by this part of the world. We also hope that the young people will be able to take advantage of existing forums and even create new ones in order to engage in dialogue with decision-makers. The main objectives are to discover local and European policies, develop their psycho-social skills, raise awareness of European actions and the work being done to create a greener, more inclusive society.
