Objectives

The project aims to achieve 3 main objectives through the activities designed for it. 1. Promote connection and collaboration between partnership members while strengthening the relations between the youngsters and youth workers in the communities connected with feminist and LGBTQIA+ collectives and allies. It is directly connected to the main priority of the project: “Common values, civic engagement and participation”. We will focus on creating initiatives and meeting spaces (both physical and virtual) that facilitate interaction and exchange of ideas. 2. Provide space for organization and community members to share knowledge, experiences, and resources to develop mutual support and mentoring initiatives for the personal growth of the young members of the community and the youth mutual support and mentoring initiatives for the personal growth of the young members of the community and the youth workers. 3. Implementing social media and local campaigns and activities that reinforce collective identity and sense of belonging to a larger and inclusive community through the dissemination of the project and its activities.

Background

In 2025-2026, La Fougue proposed a European project within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, titled Social Fabric, in partnership with a feminist association from Spain (Sakata). This project aimed to weave social bonds with and among vulnerable communities (QUEER, LGBT+, feminists, and other minority groups) by valuing practices of mutual aid and collective learning through the stories of those involved, in order to imagine together forms of communities that are supportive, open, vibrant, and transformative. The starting point was the observation of the results from a questionnaire distributed by La Fougue and Sakata in autumn 2024 regarding feminist and LGBT mutual support practices and the needs to be identified. The questionnaire, which reached 41 people in France, revealed a strong need for recognition, lasting connections, safe spaces, and tools to transmit collective experiences. The project relies on participatory research, convivial gatherings, audiovisual interviews, and a transnational residency to exchange practices. Its goal is to produce a transmission medium (fanzine/video) and to promote the spreading of these dynamics at both local and European levels.
