The objectives of our project were as follows: -To foster cooperation, the exchange of best practices and synergy among partners on issues relating to LGBTQ+ youth, media literacy and privacy, whilst adapting to the specific contexts faced by each partner. -Engage with our target audiences (young people, LGBTQ+ youth and youth workers) in partner countries at local and national levels to assess their specific needs and address them by developing tailored educational tools and approaches. -Develop inclusion initiatives aimed at young people and the LGBTQ+ community -Produce and disseminate context-specific knowledge about our target audiences, giving them a central role in this knowledge-building process. -Disseminate methodologies through reflective and creative activities designed for our audiences, using an intercultural approach. And provide youth workers with tailored tools to work on our themes.
Our project is based on an analysis of the needs of the LGBTQ+ community aged under 30 in our partner countries: we have found that this community suffers from stereotypes and is the target of various forms of violence, which differ depending on the country in question. Furthermore, a lack of understanding of their realities and experiences may partly explain this violence. This is why this project was proposed: to create innovative educational tools, to initiate constructive discussions in Western and post-socialist countries, and to empower young people to actively challenge the stereotypes they face. The project also aimed to amplify the voices of these young people, open up dialogue, and combat misinformation about them.
