Objectives

The "Wear the Change" project aims to empower young people to actively promote and implement sustainable fashion practices within their communities. Through engaging workshops, hands-on activities, and cross-cultural exchanges, participants will gain the skills and knowledge needed to make informed decisions about sustainable clothing consumption, such as buying second-hand, upcycling, and repairing garments. By understanding the environmental and social impacts of fast fashion, participants will be equipped to advocate for responsible consumption and eco-friendly fashion choices. The project’s key objectives are: 1) Empowering participants to implement sustainable fashion practices: Participants will learn practical skills related to sustainable fashion, including upcycling, repairing clothes, and identifying eco-friendly brands. These practices will enable them to take responsibility for their own consumption habits and share their knowledge with their communities. 2) Raising awareness of fast fashion’s environmental and social impact: Through workshops and discussions, participants will explore the harmful effects of fast fashion, such as excessive water consumption, pollution, and worker exploitation. This increased awareness will motivate them to seek and promote sustainable alternatives. 3) Supporting community engagement and leadership: Participants will return to their local communities to organize events such as second-hand markets, workshops, and discussions on sustainable fashion. These activities will spread the project's impact, encouraging more young people to adopt sustainable habits and become leaders in their own communities. 4) Contributing to the achievement of SDGs (SDG 12, SDG 13, SDG 17): The project will align with global sustainability goals by promoting responsible consumption (SDG 12) and climate action (SDG 13), while fostering international collaboration (SDG 17) between the partner organizations. 5) Promoting the Erasmus+ program: Participants will raise awareness of the Erasmus+ program and its opportunities for youth, encouraging further engagement in sustainability-focused initiatives.
