The youth exchange project "3, 2, 1... Initiate the Change!" focuses on improving the quality of life for young people with disabilities by strengthening their social, emotional, and physical capacities, promoting healthy lifestyles, and raising awareness about climate change and its impact on health. One of the key goals of the project is to empower young people with intellectual and mental disabilities by equipping them with new skills directly related to healthy lifestyles. This includes education on healthy eating, physical activity, and emotional well-being. Through interactive workshops, young people will learn how to better take care of their health and how to deal with the challenges they face. The project also aims to educate participants about climate change and its impact on health, especially for young people with disabilities, who are often a more vulnerable group. Through various activities, participants will learn about the connection between healthy lifestyles and environmental preservation. They will also work on understanding how climate change affects their lives, health, and future opportunities, thereby fostering their environmental awareness. Young people will engage in ecological activities, such as workshops on recycling and sustainable resource use, learning how healthy habits can contribute to environmental conservation. They will be encouraged to apply these habits in their daily lives, directly impacting their health and communities. This project aims to promote inclusion and create an environment where young people with disabilities can develop social skills and a sense of belonging. Through the youth exchange, participants will have the opportunity to work in teams, learn from each other, and develop intercultural and interpersonal relationships. Activities that encourage cooperation and teamwork are key to building self-confidence and reducing social exclusion. By participating in this international youth exchange, participants will gain experience working in a multicultural environment, contributing to the development of tolerance, understanding, and cooperation among young people from different cultural backgrounds. Through cooperation between organizations from Croatia and Serbia, the project will promote regional cooperation and create lasting connections between young people from both countries. The project aims to raise awareness among young people with disabilities about their own abilities and potential. Through a participatory approach, participants will be involved in planning and implementing activities, fostering their independence and empowerment for active participation in society. This type of activity also develops their sense of responsibility and initiative. Another important goal is to strengthen the capacity of organizations working with young people with disabilities. Through this project, youth workers and project organizers will acquire new knowledge and tools for working with young people with disabilities, which will enable long-term improvement of their programs and activities.
