Objectives

The "Building Bridges: Youth Worker Alliance Development" project aims to improve the quality and recognition of youth work in Croatia. The project recognizes that youth work currently lacks official definition and recognition as a profession, leading to misunderstandings and inadequate support for youth workers. The project seeks to address these gaps by fostering professionalization of youth work, enhancing capacity building and strengthening cooperation – all through laying the groundwork for the establishment of a national youth worker alliance in Croatia which is needed to provide support and representation for youth workers. The project's main objectives are to: · Learn from best practices and experiences: The project emphasizes the importance of studying successful examples from other countries that have established national alliances of youth workers. This knowledge will inform the development of the youth worker alliance in Croatia and contribute to overcoming existing challenges. · Support the establishment of a National Youth Worker Alliance: The project aims to lay the groundwork for creating a national alliance for youth workers in Croatia, facilitating better support, representation, and recognition of their profession. This alliance will serve as a crucial platform for youth workers across Croatia, providing them with a united voice, a network for support and knowledge exchange, and a platform to advocate for their professional recognition. We believe that by bringing together experienced youth workers, sharing best practices from other countries, and developing their skills and knowledge, we can pave the way for a more professional and impactful youth work sector in Croatia. The project will equip participants with the tools and resources they need to effectively advocate (through national alliance) for their profession and ensure that youth work is valued and supported in their communities. Ultimately, project’s aim is to create a more sustainable and impactful environment for youth work in Croatia, empowering young people and contributing to a healthier and more engaged society.
