This project was a continuation of USRED’s attempts to build up own capacities and its partner’s and network capacities in order to raise the quality of all future projects, assure more project for young people and focus on the quality of the support young people are receiving. Project was based on the need directly identified by all partners and participants. It was designed so that it builds up competences of those who are already on board as group leaders so that they know how to build up successful teams, what problems they might face, how to work with mixed ability groups and overall, how to be aware of the group dynamics. The project was focused on several commonly addressed problems, covering the challenges that often arise when working with young people from diverse cultural, national, and social backgrounds. It gave careful attention to a variety of factors and a solid understanding of the unique difficulties that can emerge in such settings starting from the very beginning and a strong responsibility to establish the right atmosphere in order to build trust and encourage meaningful connections among participants, possibility of sudden misunderstandings or misinterpretations which are posing a risk to group dynamics and finally, applying effective strategies for managing these situations constructively. Overall, with this project we wanted to empower next generation of group leaders especially in the topics of team building and group dynamics and give them solid overview of all the topics, situations and phases of the project; what to expect in each of them and how to make sure that group dynamics is established and maintained well despite the differences that may exist within the groups. Objectives of this project were as it follows: O1: to support understanding of the role which quality team building activities have on group dynamics and overall project/activity success O2: to support understanding of different types of group dynamic and things which have impact on it, especially cultural differences O3: to support development of specific set of skills needed to successfully plan, create and maintain good group dynamics O4: to support development of competences need to manage conflicts, misunderstanding and strong emotions in the group O5: to raise the awareness about role of EQ in managing groups O6: to provide space for exchange of experience, tools and methods in the field of team building and group dynamics
