Objectives

The project “Follow, Share, Care” was created by a group of young people who felt that social media plays a huge role in their lives, but they rarely stop to reflect on how it affects them. At the same time, they also saw the potential of these platforms to create positive impact, especially around topics like sustainability and wellbeing. The idea developed from earlier Erasmus+ experiences, where participants started questioning their own digital habits and wanted to go a step further by creating a project for their peers. With the support of 21 Nap Egyesület, they designed a youth-led exchange where they could both experiment with disconnection and learn how to use social media more consciously. The project was built around three main directions. First, to help participants reflect on and better understand their everyday digital habits, and to experience what it means to step away from constant online presence for a while. Second, to explore how social media can be used in a more intentional and responsible way, by creating content that reflects personal values and contributes to topics like sustainability and inclusion. Third, to connect these ideas to real-life behaviour, encouraging participants to take more conscious decisions in their daily lives and to bring these perspectives back to their communities. All of this was implemented through a non-formal learning process, where participants were actively involved in shaping the experience, learning from each other and gradually taking more responsibility throughout the project.
