Objectives

The project aims to achieve the following objectives, which directly contribute to the development and practice of youth work: A primary objective of the project is to give youth professionals an insight into youth work in both Debrecen and Brussels and to share best practices. Brussels, as the centre of the EU, has a well-developed youth policy from which Debrecen can learn. By exchanging experiences, youth workers can bring back good practices and tools that can be applied in Debrecen, especially in the field of community development and youth involvement. International networking and partnership building will be a priority for youth work practice. The programme will help professionals working in Debrecen to work on international youth projects, which can contribute to the development of long-term partnerships. International contacts will help young people to have access to a wider range of opportunities, for example through joint programmes, tenders, etc. Transformed spaces can host cultural and artistic events and creative workshops. One of the aims of youth work is to encourage young people to express themselves creatively, which can improve their self-image and their integration into society. In this way, the project helps young people to develop their talents and participate in cultural life. The project aims to create spaces where young people can engage in community activities. These spaces will provide opportunities for social interaction, community building and strengthen links between young people. In youth work, it is important to provide young people with an accessible, safe and supportive environment where community building promotes social inclusion. One of the principles of youth work is that it promotes social responsibility, and through volunteering young people can gain valuable skills and experience that will help them in their future careers. These objectives are not only relevant for community life and the development of the city, but also reinforce the values that youth work stands for, such as participation, equal opportunities, environmental awareness, creativity and the development of active citizenship.
