The student government (DÖK) of Burattino Primary and Secondary School & Children's Home proposed a project, with the support of the school management team. The project aims to respond to the current challenges to democracy, such as the decline in support for democracy; the exclusion of young people and marginalized communities from public affairs; and the influence of social media. The aim of the school is to help the DÖK to strengthen the legal protection of civil actors and the commitment to democratic values. The project consists of three steps: 1. Screening 12 documentaries that tell real stories, helping young people to recognize their own and their environment's problems. 2. Cooperation and problem solving, and developed an understanding of social inequalities, using social games. 3. A debate day, organized with political decision-makers, so that young people can contribute to the issues that concern them with meaningful participation.
