The key achievement of this project was to engage young people and over 142 young people took part in the events and 44 young people attended the Youth Core Group meetings throughout the project We connected these young people to the EU participatory processes through the exploratory phase of the EU Youth Dialogue process. The core youth group was set up, meeting regularly, upskilling, planning and implementing the consultation on cycle 11 of the EU Youth Dialogue project on the theme of connecting EU with Youth, Goal #1 of the EU Youth Goals. Objectives The objectives were met • We Included a diverse voice and young people with fewer opportunities in the EU Youth Dialogue process. • We Engaged young people from diverse backgrounds in cycle 11 of the EU Youth Dialogue process by reaching out to youth organisations that work with young people from minority ethnic backgrounds and young people with fewer opportunities to engage and bring young people to the events. At both events and in the core youth group there was significant representation of young people from minority ethnic backgrounds including the traveller community. • We continue to Include the youth voice in the development of the Irish presidency EU Youth Dialogue conference, young people from the Core Youth Group attended the European Youth Event, developing their understanding of the EU and a member of the group joined the European Steering Group on the EU Youth Dialogue, responsible for the Ireland’s presidency of the EU. • young people were provided with a learning and skills development opportunities, such as facilitation skills and were facilitators and content creators at the youth event consultation activities in Cork and Dublin and a delegation facilitated a workshop at the EYE in Strasbourg in June, in the EU Parliament.
