The ARTICORPI project aims to address the growing disconnection between youth, their communities, and the environment, particularly in marginalized or peripheral areas. Through a combination of artistic expression, environmental engagement, and cross-cultural collaboration, the project seeks to create a meaningful, empowering experience for young people. The specific objectives of the projects are: Fostering Environmental and Personal Wellbeing Awareness 1. Raise awareness among young people about the interconnectedness of personal wellbeing (both physical and mental) and the health of the environment. By engaging participants in activities that involve observing their natural surroundings, reflecting on community needs, and connecting these observations to personal wellbeing, youth will learn to develop a deeper sense of care for themselves and their environment. This will cultivate mindfulness, responsibility, and active involvement in community regeneration. 2. Promoting Cross-Cultural and Inclusive Learning Encourage youth to engage in cross-cultural and cross-ability learning, fostering mutual understanding and respect. Participants will exchange knowledge and practices on personal and community care, including interacting with peers from diverse socio-economic, ethnic, and ability backgrounds. This will enhance their ability to learn from one another, break down social barriers, and create a more inclusive, empathetic, and supportive community. 3. Developing Creative, Practical, and Social Skills Equip youth with creative and manual skills, along with teamwork and communication competencies, by involving them in the design and construction of land art using natural materials. Through hands-on experience, participants will learn about design principles, eco-friendly construction techniques, and artistic expression, while also building confidence in their ability to contribute to a collective project. The focus on teamwork, cooperation, and attention to details will help young people improve their communication and leadership skills, empowering them to become active participants in future social and environmental projects. 4. Empowering Youth for Civic and Environmental Engagement Provide youth with a tangible opportunity to take meaningful action in their communities, thereby reducing feelings of eco-anxiety and helplessness. By actively participating in the creation of land art with a social purpose, youth will experience firsthand the power of collective action. The process of co-creating art that responds to both personal and community needs will foster a sense of purpose, agency, and belonging, motivating them to continue engaging in civic and environmental initiatives beyond the project. 5. Encouraging Sustainable Participation and Regeneration - Promote sustainable practices and community regeneration through participatory land art. The project will engage youth in the sustainable use of natural materials, encouraging them to think critically about the environmental impact of their actions and how art can be used to promote ecological and social change. This hands-on involvement in community spaces will inspire them to initiate or participate in future projects aimed at environmental stewardship and communal wellbeing. In sum, the ARTICORPI project aims to build a bridge between personal development, community involvement, and environmental responsibility, fostering a generation of youth who are capable of creating positive change both locally and globally.
