Throughout the world, young people are witnessing a succession of environmental emergencies, with most protests linking local needs to global ones. Youth are beginning to express their frustration at inadequate measures, as seen in Europe with the protests led by the Civil Society Youth movements. Young people, who are most affected by the current socio-political and economic crisis, will play a crucial role in driving sustainable development within organizations, institutions, and communities. If empowered and proactively focused on issues that impact their lives, young people will be able to unleash their potential, act as agents of positive change and sustainable growth at global and local levels. According to the definition of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, green skills are the knowledge, values, and attitudes necessary to live, develop, and sustain a sustainable and resource-efficient society. It is important to educate and train young people on the perspectives and benefits of a sustainable economy and the opportunities it creates. By learning new skills and improving their ability to identify opportunities in green jobs, young people can develop a stronger entrepreneurial mindset and thus create more spaces for themselves and their peers where a more sustainable future is possible. Taking into consideration these needs that have emerged among young people, the WISE project's general objective is: - To boost young people's knowledge of sustainable practices that can be implemented for a lower environmental impact, and to encourage green skills and self-entrepreneurship, thereby unlocking their untapped potential. SPECIFC OBJECTIVES: - To promote environmentally sustainable behaviours among n.16 young participants through practical non-formal and informal education activities, increasing their awareness of everyday actions that reduce environmental impact; - To empower n.16 young participants by developing a sustainability-oriented entrepreneurial mindset and practical green skills, enabling them to become local change agents who can promote green practices and green business initiatives in their communities. - To foster the exchange of skills, experiences, knowledge, contacts, through horizontal sharing and conviviality moments, allowing participants to share sustainability initiatives undertaken by their peers to catalyse new ideas among the youth; - To expand their mental and geographical borders of participants and thus increase their perception as 'European citizens'.
