Objectives

The Council of the EU has highlighted that across Europe, human rights and democratic values are under threat. In particular, youth from marginalized backgrounds face increased risks of exclusion, discrimination, and hate crimes. The rise in intolerance, prejudice, and social cleavages in the wake of these global challenges calls for urgent measures to empower young people to stand up for their rights and for the rights of others. Rights in Action will empower young people with the knowledge and skills to advocate for human rights and contribute to creating more inclusive societies. By fostering an understanding of human rights principles, this project will provide participants with the tools to take action and promote equality in their communities. To achieve this, we have set the following OBJECTIVES: 1. equip youth with a deep understanding of human rights concepts and how these apply to their daily lives 2 .train participants to become effective advocates for human rights in their communities 3. encourage young people to actively engage in civic life and participate in decision-making processes 4. foster empathy and inclusivity through the creation of inclusive spaces that promote diversity and challenge prejudices in their communities 5. equip participants with the practical skills needed to lead human rights initiatives, projects, and activities within their own communities
