Objectives

Following the wave of our previous Erasmus+ Project "EUnited Against Fast Fashion" and in preparation for our fourth project "Start up the past", the idea for this project that we have called "EUnited for Sustainable Tech" (a title that comes from our desire to play with words and make as many target groups and stakeholders understand as possible, who is behind the financing of these initiatives through the Erasmus+ program) comes from the need of our association and partner organizations that are experiencing the impact of the abandonment of overproduction of electronic devices in our society, the so-called phenomenon of fast tech. We want to carry out a fifth project to continue working on this topic, but this time focusing on all types of waste resulting from the waste and the rapid turnover of electronic devices in our society and on what we can do to counteract this phenomenon starting from the bottom. The added value of our project, compared to the previous ones, to which it is connected, is to educate young people about recycling, environmental protection and how to implement efficient savings on waste production (used tech products) by informing them about the damages caused by their dispersion on our planet. We will focus on the possibilities of recycling with creative methods (Upcycling) using the same waste that we will collect (used tech products). We thought of this Youth Exchange to address the primary need to involve our local community, so that all the different groups of people are positively influenced. Our association wants to make a difference and raise awareness on environmental issues and the consequences of waste production specifically of electronic devices. The Youth Exchange is the most important and main activity that will be carried out during this project. We want to continue with this project and with this idea because through non-formal education, experience and simulation activities and practical activities and creativity, we want to influence the young participants of the Youth Exchange, making them understand the impact of the overproduction of electronic devices in the world. . So, the main objective of our project is to reduce waste production and promote the social initiative of learning to clean up areas contaminated by waste, continuing our work started with our previous project, given the success of this project and the positive impact we have managed to produce. One of the objectives of this project is to continue our collaborations with our local and international partners. Our aim is also to create a meeting point for young people from our local community in Calabria. The objectives of this project and the learning objectives we set ourselves to achieve are: - activate young people for environmental protection; - create awareness about the damage of overproduction of waste from electronic devices, seeking solutions for this problem; - promote creativity as a tool for environmental protection; - improve young people's level of creative skills; - raise young people's awareness of intercultural dialogue and cultural diversity; - increase the level of key competences of young people certified Youthpass; - promote intercultural learning and global goals through non-formal education; The specific objectives of the programme are the following: 1) to promote the mobility of individuals and groups for learning purposes as well as collaboration, quality, inclusion and equity, excellence, creativity and innovation at the level of organisations and policies in the field of education and training: This project respects this objective because by promoting the concepts of environmental promotion and protection it allows the creation of a space where young people from different parts of Europe through the development of their creativity in terms of environmental protection guarantee high examples of good practices in the field of collaboration, inclusion, equity and creativity. 2) To promote mobility for non-formal and informal learning purposes, the active participation of young people. Through this project, therefore, the mobility of young people for non-formal and informal learning purposes will also be promoted given the international and inclusive character of the planned activities. In general, we all know how important environmental protection and eco-sustainable life development are and we think that this project has all the margins to join the wave of initiatives aimed at educating young people in a sustainable way.
