Gender roles in society are often seen as predetermined, with blue traditionally associated with boys and pink with girls – a notion ingrained in our childhood. These fixed social roles can lead to severe violations of women's human rights and discrimination. Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right but also a core value of the European Union, and it plays a vital role in achieving the EU's goals of growth, employment, and social cohesion. Addressing gender-based violence is essential, as it remains one of the most widespread human rights abuses, a grave violation of human dignity. Participants, have a responsibility to reconsider their attitudes toward gender and violence, fostering awareness of this critical issue among young people. Despite the various initiatives and documents supporting gender equality at both the European and global levels, gender disparities are deeply entrenched in our societies, necessitating substantial effort to enact even modest changes. The concept of our project, "No Means No - EUnited against Gender based violence" is a result of the collective vision of Gabriele one of our volunteers and his peers from across Europe. Through their active involvement in numerous youth exchanges centered on gender dynamics and violence, Gabriele (IT), Nefeli (GR), Kinga (DK), Jose(SP), and Dimitrije(SR) all volunteers of the consortium, initiated their journey for the fight against gender-based violence and discrimination. Drawing upon their diverse backgrounds and experiences, these volunteers, alongside their counterparts from various NGOs, came together with a shared purpose: to create meaningful change in their communities. Recognizing the urgent need to address the systemic violence, particularly against women, they crafted "No Means No" as a spark of hope and empowerment. With dedication, they seek to challenge the status quo, amplify voices of women that have long been silenced. Our YE aims to empower and raise the awareness of young people in order to advocate for gender equality and combat gender-based violence. Engage 35 young participants from 5 European countries in interactive workshops on gender equality, gender-based violence, stereotypes, and mobilization against gender-based violence. Through these discussions, participants will gain a deeper understanding of these issues and their impact on society. One of goal is to raise the awareness participants with skills and knowledge to use visual concepts, photography, and graphics as tools for promoting gender equality and combating gender-based violence. By learning to communicate effectively through visual mediums, participants will develop innovative ways to advocate for social change. We plan to achieve our goals by implement activities such as: Interactive workshops on gender equality, gender-based violence, and advocacy skills. Group discussions and sharing of best practices. Creative workshops using visual communication methods. Cultural exchange activities, including traditional food nights and cultural performances. Dissemination projects addressing gender-related issues in participants' home communities. Reflection sessions and evaluation of learning outcomes. Our expected results are the following: Increased awareness and understanding of gender equality and gender-based violence among participants. Enhanced advocacy and communication skills, particularly in using visual methods for social change. Strengthened cooperation and solidarity among youth from different European countries. Development of action plans for implementing gender equality initiatives in participants' countries Under the perspective of youth practice we consider relevant achievable objectives: • To inspire young people to take action and stand up against discrimination and gender based violence. • To develop a sense of initiative and critical thinking in young people • To enhance the local and international activities of organizations working in the youth sector through strengthened cooperation among participating exchange organizations. • To raise awareness of active citizenship and social inclusion through increased mobility opportunities for learning. • To improve the key competencies of young people, including those with fewer opportunities. • To foster intercultural understanding and promote cultural diversity through creativity-based activities • To create a supportive community for young people to share their experiences and support one another in their journey • To increase awareness among young people about gender based violence its negative impact on society, through actions and presentations of final products in different European countries, involving local populations. • To encourage young people to take concrete actions in the defense of human rights and women rights and equip them with the tools and knowledge they need to fight back against the gender based violence phenomenon
