The overall goal of the project NEEDS - Nonformal Education Experience Devising Sounds is to train youth workers in the creation of nonformal educational activities that are specifically based on the needs of their target groups. The specific objectives achieved by the project are the following: -the training of 15 youth workers cooperating with 5 organizations from Greece, Latvia, French, Spain, Italy, to create nonformal educational activities based on the needs of young people and delivered with a methodology that is agreed with the target groups. During the training, participants will learn, implement and experience the process of creating new activities in nonformal education contexts, using music as exemplifying methodology. -the organisation of 6 focus groups, involving local young people in the 6 local communities where the partner organisations are located, facilitated by the youth workers participating in the project and aimed at offering time and space to young people to share their needs. The outcomes of these focus groups is the planning of local activities based on the needs of young people, that will be integrated in the activity program of the partner organisations. -raising the awareness of the international community of youth workers of the importance of listening the needs of young people and of offering engagement opportunities that are based on those needs. The outcome of this objective is the diffusion of a video that presents the importance of listening the needs of young people, and that shares suggestions to create safe spaces where young people can feel free and safe to express themselves. -the provision to international youth workers of a guide for creating new activities that are based on the needs of young people. The outcome of this objective is the publication of an online handbook containing instructions and suggestions to create new activities. Following the handbook, youth workers will have the opportunity to be guided step-by-step in the creation on new activities based on the needs of youth, replacing music with the method that is more relevant for the target group.
