Objectives

Our project, International Seminar on Socio-Actorality, aims at developing, by sharing the theatrical research work of different realities, innovative and inclusive educational methodologies to be used in theatre workshops with young and very young people. More specifically, within the partnership, composed of organisations and theatre companies running local activities with young people, the need emerged for methodologies, to be disseminated among their operators and beneficiaries, capable of - support processes of inclusion and dialogue between young people from different backgrounds - make young people more aware of their own cultural biases and the lenses through which they observe the world and relate to Otherness; - promote critical reflection on social reality and stimulate in young people an active attitude towards the world; - stimulate reflection on interpersonal and relational dynamics and power relationships; - support the psycho-physical well-being of young people. To achieve this, we have identified the starting point in Socio-Actorality, an approach on which Hospites Teatro has been conducting research and workshops for several years. The socio-actorial approach, in fact, focuses on acting skills developed and utilised outside the moments of stage fiction. In practice, it is an approach that, starting from the social and interpersonal dynamics experienced in everyday life, critically analyses and deconstructs them in order to understand all their micro-dynamics. On the basis of this analysis, strategies are then developed to be used during acting. Although this approach was born and is used as a tool for actors, it has in our opinion the characteristics to serve as a basis for the development of new educational methodologies, capable of responding to the needs listed above: it is mainly based on body language, it moves from a critical and profound analysis of social and interpersonal relationships, it forces subjects to question their relationship with others, and it stimulates the ability to focus on oneself and one's body. Moreover, as it combines performing arts, pedagogy and social sciences, it lends itself well to both the characteristics of the partnership members (described below) and the work we intend to carry out. The specific objectives of the project are: - To create a space for sharing and comparing theatre research work carried out by the individual organisations involved in the project; - To introduce participants to the Socio-Actorality approach, through theatre training sessions; - To develop, starting from the training and sharing activities, non-formal and innovative educational tools, shared by several organisations in Europe, which can be used in drama education with young and very young people in different contexts; - Disseminating the tools developed among other operators, in order to multiply the project results; - To support the development of positive skills and attitudes among young people, through the use of new methodologies; - To promote the role of theatre as a means of education, inclusion, as a driver of social and personal relationships and as a driver of social change; - To support the establishment of relations between organisations and operators active in the same field; - To promote the Erasmus+ programme in new contexts.
