“ALL ABOARD!” is a call or invitation to ALL to come on board of the Erasmus+ and ESC mobility projects. We believe that everyone can participate with the right tools and support. “Empowering Youth Workers in Inclusive Mobility Projects for People with Intellectual Disabilities” is a KA1 Mobility of Youth Workers’ project that aims to increase the quality of youth work with a specific target and context: young people with intellectual disabilities in mobility projects. The different actors and youth workers involved in a mobility project often don’t feel to have the resources to support young people with intellectual disabilities, and that leads to a lack of inclusive projects for this specific target or a low quality of it. Developing the knowledge and competences of the youth workers with different roles within the mobility projects, the quality increases and the number of organisations willing to do inclusive projects for people with intellectual disabilities can rise with more confidence, reducing also the risk of difficulties in the implementation. The MAIN OBJECTIVE is to increase the quality of youth work for participants with intellectual disabilities in mobility projects. To reach this main objective, we aim to develop the knowledge and competences of youth workers in the different roles. The SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES are: 1. Enhance the capacity and empower youth workers and project staff with the skills to effectively design and manage an inclusive project and support participants with intellectual disabilities. 2. Promote inclusive practices and raise awareness of the specific needs and potential of participants with intellectual disabilities in mobility projects. 3. Develop and disseminate a set of practical tools and resources for the youth workers involved in designing and managing inclusive projects and supporting participants with intellectual disabilities. 4. Create a network of organisations and professionals committed to the inclusion of individuals with intellectual disabilities in mobility projects and develop new quality partnerships. At a European level, the youth worker is the professional or volunteer who supports the personal, social and educational development of young people, helping them to reach their full potential, focusing on building young people’s confidence, skills, and participation in society. The support and involvement of young people with intellectual disabilities often is seen as challenging and requiring specific resources, knowledge and competences. By providing information and training to three different role figures in the mobility projects of the participating organisations, this project aims to enlarge the actors that are willing and prepared to involve this target group, with a higher quality and systemic approach. Project managers or coordinators, mentors or tutors, team leaders and accompanying persons, are all key support figures of a young participant in mobility projects. They are all youth workers that support the personal, social and educational development of the youngster. Giving the tools and resources to adapt their daily work to a specific target group will increase the quality of their work and youth work in general.
