The main objective of this project is to empower Deaf young people across Europe by helping them understand and embrace their national and European identities. Specifically, the project aims to foster a deeper connection to European identity, counter rising nationalism, and promote resilience in identity formation. From a youth work perspective, this means using culturally enriching, participatory methods to support Deaf youth in navigating their complex identities, giving them a safe space to reflect on their experiences and develop self-confidence. The project will facilitate cultural exchange to help participants appreciate the diversity within the Deaf community across Europe, highlighting how national identities and shared European values can coexist harmoniously. This experience will be framed by youth work practices that encourage critical thinking, inclusivity, active participation, and non-formal education, ultimately aiming to help Deaf young people develop leadership, advocacy skills, and cross-cultural understanding.
