The main aim of this project is to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to advocate for comprehensive sexual education, gender equality, and LGBTQIA+ inclusivity in their communities. By fostering an environment where youth can discuss sensitive topics openly, the project seeks to challenge cultural taboos and promote awareness about sexual health, while encouraging respect for diversity and inclusivity. A key objective is to improve participants' understanding of sexual health and rights. Many young people lack access to accurate information on topics like contraception, consent, and prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). This project addresses these gaps by providing non-formal education on sexual health as a human right. Participants will learn about the discrimination and stigma that marginalized groups face regarding sexual health, allowing them to make more informed decisions and feel confident discussing these topics within their communities. Another major objective is to focus on youth empowerment and leadership development. The project aims to develop advocacy skills by encouraging participants to take leadership roles in promoting sexual health and gender equality. Through workshops, participants will gain experience in public speaking, campaign management, and community organizing, ensuring they have the tools to lead community initiatives that advocate for access to sexual health resources and inclusivity. This focus on building confidence and leadership ensures that participants not only gain knowledge but also develop the capacity to initiate and sustain social change. By empowering youth as advocates for equality, the project creates a long-term impact that will extend well beyond the project itself. Cross-cultural learning is central to the project’s success. By bringing together participants from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, the project fosters an exchange of ideas and perspectives on sexual education, gender equality, and LGBTQIA+ rights. This interaction helps break down stereotypes and broadens participants’ understanding of how these issues are addressed across different cultures. The peer-to-peer learning component promotes a sense of solidarity and collaboration, as participants share personal experiences and learn from each other, reinforcing a deeper commitment to addressing these challenges locally and globally. Additionally, the project will focus on producing creative educational resources to raise awareness about sexual education and gender equality. Participants will work collaboratively to create posters, videos, and digital campaigns, which will be shared with the immediate group and disseminated more widely through social media and partner networks. By extending the reach of these educational tools, the project ensures that the knowledge and awareness generated will have a lasting impact on a broader audience, offering valuable resources for youth workers, educators, and advocates. A critical aspect of the project is addressing gender-based violence and the inclusion of LGBTQIA+ individuals. In many communities, these topics are poorly understood or even ignored, leading to further marginalization and discrimination. The project seeks to directly confront these issues by creating a safe space for discussions on gender-based violence, women’s rights, and the challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals. Participants will explore how gender stereotypes, discrimination, and violence differ across cultural contexts and learn strategies to combat these issues. Through open dialogue and culturally sensitive approaches, the project aims to reduce stigma and create a more supportive environment for young people, particularly those from marginalized groups. The project also focuses on ensuring long-term sustainability. The impact of the project will extend beyond its immediate duration by encouraging participants to stay engaged in advocacy work related to sexual education and gender equality. The formation of local advocacy groups will be supported in participants’ home communities, giving them the resources and knowledge to continue the work initiated during the project. Additionally, a "best practices" guide will be developed, summarizing the project’s outcomes and ensuring that its lessons can be shared with a wider audience, integrated into future efforts to promote inclusivity and equality.
