EN: The project “Our Stories” aimed to strengthen youth workers’ ability to use storytelling methods in their daily work with young people. The project idea emerged from the need to provide youth workers with more practical tools for communicating more clearly, engaging young people more actively, and supporting self-expression, creativity, empathy and reflection. Storytelling methods were chosen because they make complex topics more accessible, help create emotional connection, and offer young people a safer way to speak about their experiences, identity, sense of belonging and social challenges. The main objective of the project was to improve the quality of youth work by equipping youth workers with concrete knowledge, skills and methods for creating and using stories in educational processes. During the project, participants’ competences were strengthened in narrative structure, character development, audience engagement, emotional connection, creative expression and the application of narratives in youth work. The specific objectives were to develop storytelling competences, strengthen youth workers’ ability to create activities based on empathy and mutual understanding, promote creativity and self-expression, show how stories can support group cohesion and shared identity, and provide methods for using narratives responsibly when working with complex or sensitive social topics. The project also aimed to ensure that its results would be useful beyond the direct participants and their mobility experience. For this reason, the project included the creation of practical materials that could be used by partner organisations and other youth workers after the activity.
