Objectives

By implementing this project, we not only deepened our own understanding of climate change and the impact that excessive waste production has on it, but also shared this knowledge with the local community and young people. In doing so, we promoted sustainable and environmentally friendly practices that support — and will continue to support — a better future for our planet. Our goal was/is to draw attention to climate change and waste production, and to exchange experiences related to local, national and international policies in this field. Through this, we encouraged new ideas and actions aimed at reducing ecological impact. This project fostered active youth participation in environmental initiatives and provided a better understanding of how to communicate about these topics and educate others. We believe it was — and still is — important to promote a sustainable attitude towards the environment by improving public awareness regarding waste reduction. Therefore, the main goal of the project was to increase society’s understanding of climate change and its consequences. Eco-education was the key context of the project, which we aimed to achieve through: - raising awareness of climate change issues and their consequences; - developing skills in waste reduction, recycling and composting; - increasing knowledge and understanding of climate change in our countries and in Europe; - learning how to reduce our negative impact on the environment; - gaining insight into the European Union’s and global approaches to climate change and environmental protection; - educating the public on how to reduce, recycle and/or sort waste; - creating a safe platform for international and intercultural exchange of ideas, experiences and knowledge; - encouraging youth participation at local and national levels; - promoting European Union values and the Erasmus+ programme.
