With this project, we aim to encourage young people to reconsider their views on consumer culture, fashion, clothing and sustainability. The contemporary fashion industry contributes significantly to many of today's global problems ( consumption, environmental destruction, lack of sustainable development, modern slavery/unfair working conditions) and this is largely done without consumer knowledge and criticism. The aim of this project is to bring young participants with an awareness of the current situation, and an understanding of how to change the existing system. To make the "care - repair - re-wear" attitude the norm. To learn how to use traditional skills and creativity to reinvent the old and extend the life of our clothes. As the author Orsola de Castro writes: "We think of repairing our trousers as we repair the environment; we will repair both our broken clothes and our broken systems"; At the same time, we want to raise the profile of traditional clothing and offer it as a as an alternative to homogenised mass products. In this context, the use of ancient techniques and the ability to work with fabrics will stimulate the cultural individuality of young people and at the same time address the issue of sustainability. The project aims to: 1. to share traditional skills related to repairing, adapting and personalising clothing. 2.To celebrate the cultural diversity that exists in Europe, expressed through traditional clothing, skills and techniques, thus promoting intercultural dialogue. 3. To educate participants about the unsustainable nature of the contemporary fashion industry. 4. To demonstrate how the application of traditional creative skills in relation to clothing can be a form of activism and societal transition towards a more sustainable future. 5. To empower participants and guide them through the process of how small groups can create social awareness and change. 6. Educate participants on how individual choices affect the bigger picture of global sustainable development, especially in relation to clothing. 7. To equip participants with the knowledge and skills they need to become ambassadors for social change in their communities. 8. To foster the personal development of participants and support their learning process. 9. Promote self-confidence and the benefits of soft skills learning. 10. To increase knowledge about European projects, the Erasmus+ programme and EU values of inclusion and diversity.
