Objectives

With "Echoes and Bodies," we aim to achieve a significant positive impact on the mental health and social inclusion of youth through innovative practice, holistic approach, and integrative pedagogy. The primary objectives of our project are to equip youth workers with a set of tools and methods that would be based on various expressions of non-violent communication, Deep Ecology, and group dynamics crafted through embodied methods such as Contact Improvisation, Dance and Dance Movement Therapy, Authentic Movement, Playfight, and Somatic Experiencing. These practices will enable them to foster a balanced development in the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social dimensions of young people’s lives. Through this training, we seek to enhance the professional capabilities of youth workers, empowering them to create more empathetic, supportive, and inclusive environments and strengthening their emotional responsibility and resilience levels. The integration of these methods will help youth workers address various challenges faced by young people, promoting positive mental health outcomes and stronger social bonds. Additionally, by emphasizing embodiment and integrative pedagogy, we aim to cultivate a deeper sense of empathy, agency, and community among both youth workers and the youth they serve. Ultimately, our project aspires to foster resilient and authentic communities where young individuals feel met, supported, and capable of contributing meaningfully to society, and for this, we want to give priority to candidates who belong to groups with fewer opportunities.
