Objectives

Our LGBTQ+ sexuality education project focuses on the intersection of holistic methods and creating safer spaces for inclusion. We aim to provide youth workers with innovative approaches to enhance their facilitation of sexuality education for young people through a range of holistic techniques, including embodiment, storytelling, art expression, and kinesthetic learning. Our goal is to integrate this open-mindness into the daily routines of participants, enabling them to teach young people in a more inclusive and supportive manner. This approach incorporates non-formal education methods that promote a more open and accepting environment. By implementing this project, we aim to achieve several key objectives in the context of youth work practice: Innovative Educational Tools: We seek to promote and develop new creative non-formal education tools specifically for LGBTQ+ inclusive sexual and reproductive health. Our focus will be on emphasizing intersectionality, storytelling, and a holistic approach to ensure that the tools we create are both relevant and impactful. Safer Spaces: One of our goals is to create safer and braver spaces where youth and youth workers can openly share their stories and engage with topics related to consent, sexual, and reproductive health. This will help foster an environment of trust and openness. Tool Exchange and Empowerment: We aim to facilitate the exchange of effective tools among youth workers to empower them in leading open discussions about stigmatized topics. This will help them to address and challenge their own biases, myths, and societal stigmas. Inclusivity in Practice: We intend to educate participants about inclusivity in communication, language, space, and curriculum, and encourage them to integrate these practices into their daily life and professional work. Active Citizenship for Young Queer People: The project aims to promote active citizenship among young queer individuals, increasing their engagement and participation in societal activities and decision-making processes. Cross-Cultural Solidarity: We strive to foster mutual understanding and solidarity among young queer people across different European countries, enhancing their sense of community and collective identity. European Values: By aligning with European values, we aim to promote principles of democracy, human rights, gender equality, and non-violence through our project activities. Through these objectives, we aspire to make a meaningful impact on youth work practice by improving inclusivity, encouraging open dialogue, and supporting the empowerment of young people within and beyond their communities.
