Objectives

The project aimed to strengthen the capacity of youth workers and youth leaders to promote inclusion and LGBTQI+ rights while also supporting their wellbeing and sustainability in youth work. We wanted participants to develop practical strategies to create safer and more inclusive spaces for young people, to respond to discrimination with concrete youth work methods, and to exchange approaches across different national contexts. A key objective was to test and share an innovative methodology that combines outdoor education (a long-distance group walk) with non-formal learning on inclusion, advocacy and community building. We also aimed to encourage participants to adopt reflective and self-care practices that help prevent burnout and improve the quality of their everyday youth work, and to strengthen a long-term European network of organisations working at the intersection of inclusion, mindfulness/wellbeing and youth work.
