Objectives

Pear Up is designed to enhance the professional growth of youth workers from our partner organizations. We plan to achieve this by organizing a distinctive, experience-based learning event that emphasizes advanced facilitation techniques. Through this initiative, the participants will have the opportunity to build an informal learning community, exchange their practices, and refine their facilitation skills, ultimately elevating the overall quality of youth work. On one hand, there is often a lack of training in advanced facilitation techniques and modern leadership approaches, which hinders their effectiveness. Especially, there is a lack of training for professionals to develop in themselves and their lives what they bring to their target groups when they assume leadership. On the other hand, the need for adaptable leaders who can engage and motivate diverse teams is more crucial than ever. It leads us to the following objectives: - develop leadership and facilitation skills: the project seeks to equip youth workers with advanced leadership tools; these skills will enable them to guide peer-to-peer learning processes and better adapt to modern educational challenges, ultimately making them more effective in their roles; - support personal and professional growth: by organizing a highly interactive learning event that focuses on experiential learning, PearUp aims to provide youth workers with practical applications of peer-to-peer education strategies; the goal is for the participants to return home with the capability to implement these strategies, thereby fostering their organizations' growth; - broaden experience and improve soft skills: the project will bring together 30 youth workers, offering them the opportunity to exchange practices, improve their soft skills, and enhance their confidence in taking on leadership roles; the participants will be inspired to continue developing these skills within their home organizations; - create sustainable learning cycles: the project promotes continuous learning by combining theory with practical implementation; through professionally guided activities and experiential learning, the participants will be able to apply, test, and refine new techniques, ensuring that their skills evolve; - strengthen organizational capacity: by involving 6 partner organizations, PearUp aims to enhance the capacity of these entities; the skills and experiences gained by the participants will be shared within their organizations, contributing to the overall development of their teams and the creation of further professional opportunities; - foster community and networking: one of the main goals is to build a strong, collaborative network of youth workers that can support one another beyond the project timeline; this community of young professionals will continue to create opportunities for their target groups, thereby expanding the impact of the project; - create local impact and dissemination: each national group will organize local actions and publish 6 articles to disseminate the knowledge and skills gained during the project; the participants will also receive Youthpass certifications and the outcomes of these actions will be evaluated to ensure long-term impact. Having used peer-to-peer learning for over 7 years, what we love about it is that it allows us to focus on personal involvement in our teams and supports our team members with the challenges and opportunities of successfully leading teams and actively engaging young people in activities. Through this learning event, we aim to reflect on modern leadership and provide participants with insights, tips, and tricks on how peer-to-peer education can be put into practice. Our basis will be the methodology of learning by doing and experiential learning. We believe that learning is deeper and more lasting when it is based on experimentation and subsequent reflection, of course. That's why in this project we want to give the participants the practical application of specific methods and activities that support peer-to-peer learning. We want the participants to return home capable of successfully implementing peer-to-peer education strategies on their own, which will also support the growth of their organizations. PearUp aligns with the EU Youth Work Agenda and the Erasmus+ objectives by: - offering a high-quality, professional growth experience for youth workers; - supporting the expansion and capacity-building of the partner organizations; - encouraging active participation and inspiring young people by equipping youth workers with the skills to engage and motivate their target groups; - using a diverse range of theories and practices to enrich the toolkit of the participants, ensuring they are well-equipped to address the evolving challenges in youth work; - promoting sustainability and knowledge-sharing through system development, outreach activities, and continued networking across Europe.
