The project aimed to increase youth engagement in political and social life, create an inclusive environment of civic engagement where young people share and learn with each other, and are encouraged to be active on practicing democracy tools at the local and European level. This project went to achieving the objectives as below: To create an interactive environment where young people through the youth exchange can experientially learn about civic engagement through various activities such as direct democracy simulations and workshops on peaceful protests, voting, petitioning, decision-making processes, media literacy plus exchange visits and meetings in democracy week events; To introduce and personally explore various democratic tools for civic participation, and critically examine the effectiveness of these tools in various European contexts and how they are relevant and connected with the practice; To co-create actionable plans that can be implemented in local communities like "Digital Activism and Advocacy, How to Amplify Your Voice Online” and encourage active engagement through non-formal educational methods and digital tools To engage youth in dialogue with decision-makers about the obstacles youth face in civic participation at the local and European level To ensure youth representation in discussions on European democracy, showcase the outcomes of the youth forum to a broader European audience and highlight the unique voices and experiences of youth in democracy. We aimed for young people to increase knowledge, develop skills and change attitudes on civic participation by effectively equipping them with the necessary information, skills and motivation to be actively engaged at the local level, and be closer to the local institution and community. In addition, we aimed for young people and organizations to gain positive models, practices and tools to practice democracy at local and European levels, referring to the Norwegian model of youth engagement, and the democratic process.
