Objectives

The goal of the "Art for Change" project is to develop key competencies among young people through non-formal education, artistic activities, and raising ecological and social awareness. We focus on enabling youth from Portugal, Greece, Romania, and Poland to acquire skills necessary for active participation in social life while promoting pro-environmental and inclusive attitudes. Our project aims to unite different groups of young people, including those with fewer opportunities, promoting equality, inclusion, and joint actions for environmental protection. 1. Development of key youth competencies • Social and civic competencies: Through workshops and artistic activities, we aim to enhance participants' teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. We will also promote civic engagement, teaching young people how to actively contribute to their communities and the environment. The youth will learn to initiate local projects and engage in social activities that will have a lasting impact on their lives and surroundings. • Intercultural competencies: The project aims to bring together youth from different countries and cultures. Through international cooperation, participants will learn tolerance, empathy, and respect for cultural differences, which will strengthen their European awareness. Working in international groups will allow the youth to develop communication skills in various cultural contexts and break down stereotypes. • Artistic and creative competencies: Through artistic workshops and the happening, participants will have the opportunity to develop their creative talents, stimulate creativity, and express themselves through art. The project will enable youth to use art as a tool for communicating important social and environmental issues. Creating the "Breath of the Earth" artistic happening will allow the youth to express their views on environmental protection and air pollution. • Ecological competencies: A primary goal of the project is to raise ecological awareness among young people. Participants will learn how to care for the environment, promote sustainable practices, and take action to protect the climate. Through workshops on recycling, waste management, and water pollution, the youth will learn how to make responsible consumer choices and promote eco-friendly behaviors in their communities. 2. Strengthening pro-environmental attitudes • Ecological education: We aim for participants to not only expand their knowledge of environmental protection but also learn how to apply that knowledge in practice. The ecological and artistic workshops will focus on issues such as waste management, water pollution, and recycling. Participants will become ambassadors of change in their local communities, promoting environmental protection and spreading good ecological practices. • Promoting active civic engagement in environmental protection: Youth will learn how to engage their local community in environmental actions, such as organizing happenings, workshops, or cleanup campaigns. We want young people to feel responsible for protecting nature and understand that their actions have a real impact on the planet's future. 3. Integration of youth with fewer opportunities • Equality and social inclusion: The project places great emphasis on including youth with fewer opportunities, such as individuals with disabilities, Roma youth, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through joint activities and integration, we aim to break down social barriers, promote tolerance, and ensure equal opportunities. • Developing interpersonal and leadership skills: Youth involved in the project will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, such as organizing group work, managing a project, or leading workshops. This will equip them to take on leadership roles in their communities in the future. 4. Promoting non-formal education • Applying non-formal education methods: The project is based on non-formal education methods, such as workshops, brainstorming sessions, group work, and artistic activities. We want to show that learning can happen through action, experience, and creativity, which encourages the natural acquisition of new skills. Participants will learn the importance of an active, creative, and innovative approach to learning, which can be beneficial in their future professional and social lives. 5. Strengthening international cooperation • Building European partnerships: The project allows for the establishment of lasting relationships between youth organizations. Through international cooperation, youth will learn how to effectively work in international teams, share experiences, and create new initiatives at the European level. These partnerships will serve as the foundation for future joint projects that will continue to address social inclusion.
