What did we want to achieve through this project? The foundation of our project was the urgent need to move away from being passive observers of climate change. We no longer wanted to stand by and watch the natural disasters that have become our daily reality—from devastating floods to summer wildfires and droughts. We felt an equally deep concern regarding the progressive degradation of rivers and oceans, as well as the thick winter smog that forced us to check weather alerts and air quality maps every day. This direct confrontation with the environmental crisis served as our ultimate catalyst: instead of throwing up our hands in helplessness, we decided to take collective action. By combining the potential of young people from four countries—Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Lithuania—we created a solid international framework. Our shared sensitivity to environmental issues became the bedrock upon which we built our goals and social initiatives: 1. Environmental Education and Awareness Through the exchange of knowledge and insights, we explored the Zero Waste philosophy, focusing on the practical application of the 7R principle (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rot, Repair, Remember). Furthermore, we familiarized ourselves with the official position and priorities of the European Union regarding waste management, which allowed us to better understand the global context of ecosystem protection. 2. Practice and Healthy Lifestyle We transformed theoretical knowledge into concrete habits by integrating ecological lifestyle principles into our daily routines. We combined these efforts with health promotion and wellbeing, engaging in regular sports activities and learning how to mindfully care for the natural environment. 3. Social Dimension and Integration The project served as a platform for building positive role models and fostering integration among international youth. Working together allowed us to break through shyness, boost our self-confidence, and strengthen our sense of self-worth. Most importantly, it encouraged us to embrace diversity while casting aside prejudices and harmful stereotypes. 4. Local Impact and Promotion Our activities extended beyond the project group—we actively encouraged the local community to adopt pro-ecological initiatives, leaving a lasting impact through our developed results. Simultaneously, we effectively promoted the development opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programs, documenting our newly acquired competences with Youthpass certificates.
