Objectives

We want to implement the project ‘Young Eco-Active: Together for a Safe Future’ because it responds to the growing needs of young people in relation to ecology and environmental protection, as well as to the need to build a conscious society actively working towards sustainable development. Our activities respond to specific problems faced by today's youth, both in an ecological and personal context. The main objective of the project is to raise environmental awareness among young people about the impact of climate change on flooding and to develop joint initiatives and solutions to prevent flooding in Poland and Portugal, while promoting sustainability and environmental protection. Specific objectives: 1. by the end of the project, young people from Poland and Portugal will have developed joint concrete proposals for preventive measures that can be applied in their local communities to reduce the risk of flooding. 2. at least 80% of the project participants will have increased their knowledge of the link between climate change and flooding, which will be measured through surveys before and after the workshop. 3. young people, working in international teams, will design at least two educational campaigns in their schools or local communities to raise awareness of climate change in the context of flooding and environmental protection. 4 The project will be implemented over a period of 12 months, including environmental workshops, international exchanges, and practical activities related to the protection of aquatic ecosystems and counteracting the effects of flooding. 5 By the end of the project, the young people will have carried out at least 3 local flood prevention and environmental protection initiatives, which will be implemented for a minimum of 6 months after the end of the project activities. From a youth work practice perspective, it is crucial that the knowledge transferred is practical and engaging. Participants will take part in workshops focused on everyday environmental activities that will combine theory and practice, such as creating energy and water saving plans. For young people who are increasingly aware of the challenges of climate change, such workshops can inspire long-term changes in their daily lives. Young people learn best by doing. Participants will have the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice by engaging in a variety of activities such as cleaning up local green spaces, waste reduction workshops and tree planting. These activities will support the development of teamwork skills, responsibility and social awareness, while directly affecting the surrounding environment. It is particularly important to create a space where they can take care of their mental health. Outdoor activities and joint activities that promote healthy lifestyles, such as walks, exercise or workshops related to mental health, can help participants manage stress, as well as improve their wellbeing and relate to their peers.
