Objectives

The project was implemented as a response to the challenges that young people face in today’s rapidly changing world. Globalization, migration, and technological development have created a social environment that demands greater openness, intercultural awareness, and understanding of shared values from youth. The aim of the project was to enable participants to acquire and develop the competences necessary to function in culturally diverse environments, as well as to deepen their knowledge of the core values of the European Union. Above all, we wanted the participants to broaden their understanding of key EU values such as democracy, respect for human rights, solidarity, and equality. We aimed for them to be able to relate these values to their own lives and to understand the challenges currently faced by European societies. An important aspect of the project was also the development of intercultural skills. Participants worked in mixed teams, learning effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving in an international setting. As a result, they acquired practical tools for building positive relationships with people from different cultures and backgrounds. Throughout the project, young people also had the opportunity to foster attitudes of tolerance and openness. The workshop topics and everyday teamwork in an international group encouraged reflection on personal attitudes and supported the development of empathy and understanding towards cultural, religious, and social differences. Participants learned how to respect different perspectives and how to build a community based on mutual respect. Another key objective was the improvement of language skills – primarily in English, but also in terms of becoming familiar with the partner country’s language. Participants communicated in a foreign language in everyday situations, which boosted their self-confidence and practical language competences. The final goal was to establish lasting international connections – friendships and collaboration between peers from Poland and Lithuania. By working together on project tasks and spending time together, participants were able to build relationships that may serve as a foundation for future initiatives. In this way, the project contributed not only to the personal development of young people but also to strengthening European bonds on a social level.
