The objective of the project "Virtual World – Opportunities and Threats" was to provide comprehensive support to young people in developing responsible and conscious use of modern technologies, with particular emphasis on smartphones. We aimed for participants to gain a deeper understanding of how the intensive presence of digital devices affects their mental health, social relationships, and everyday functioning.Through this project, we intended to raise young people's awareness of both the benefits and risks associated with the digitalization of life. The implemented activities—such as educational workshops, debates, and collaboration in international teams—enabled participants to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to make more informed decisions about their technology use. One of the key goals was to develop young people's digital and social competences. This was achieved by involving them in diverse activities that required teamwork, critical thinking, online content analysis, and effective communication. These experiences not only supported their personal development but also better prepared them for future educational and professional challenges. Another important element of the project was the promotion of mental health. Through sessions focused on managing screen time and developing healthy digital habits, young people gained practical tools to support their own well-being. Moreover, the project encouraged participants to engage in civic activities, prompting reflection on the social impact of technology and fostering active involvement in their local communities. We also placed strong emphasis on building mutual understanding and cooperation between young people from Poland and Lithuania—this goal was successfully achieved through joint activities, sharing experiences, and daily collaboration in an international environment.
