Objectives

The project “Digital Detox: Healthy Living in a Digital World” was an international youth exchange implemented in cooperation between organisations from Poland, Romania and Bulgaria. It addressed the current needs and interests of young people related to the excessive use of digital technologies and their impact on mental, physical and social well-being. The project enabled participants to gain knowledge, skills and practical tools necessary for healthy, conscious and responsible functioning in the digital world, as well as for promoting European values and a sustainable lifestyle among their peers. The main objective of the project was to raise participants’ awareness of the impact of digital technologies on mental and physical health and to develop their competences related to digital well-being. Participants improved their practical skills in managing screen time, using social media responsibly and maintaining a healthy balance between online and offline activities. An important element of the project was also increasing awareness of sustainable development by promoting a lifestyle that combines the use of technology with physical activity, contact with nature and social relationships. The project also contributed to building an international network of young leaders and digital well-being ambassadors who, after the end of the project activities, undertake initiatives to promote healthy digital habits in their local communities. In addition, participants deepened their understanding of European Union values such as human dignity, freedom, democracy and human rights, analysing their meaning and application in the digital context.
