Objectives

By implementing the project “Train the Body, Heal the Mind,” we aimed to address the growing challenges related to youth mental health and the limited engagement in regular physical activity among young people aged 18-30 in our communities. The project was designed as a response to the needs identified both in our initial research and through the inquiry conducted by the five partner organizations, which highlighted high stress levels, limited sports participation, and a lack of accessible tools for maintaining daily wellbeing. Throughout the implementation, our main goal was to create a safe, multicultural, and highly active environment where participants could explore the connection between physical movement and mental health. We wanted young people to better understand how regular activity, teamwork, and simple movement-based routines can support emotional regulation, reduce stress, and strengthen overall wellbeing. The objectives of the project were: 1. To develop a safe and multicultural space for 45 young participants, enabling them to share their experiences, discuss mental health openly, and understand how physical activity can support daily wellbeing. 2. To strengthen teamwork mentality through sports activities, emphasizing the social dimension of physical movement and its role in building cooperation, empathy, communication skills, and a sense of belonging. 3. To raise awareness of mental health disorders among young people, using accessible digital tools to help participants better understand stress, anxiety, and healthy coping mechanisms. 4. To provide participants with a wide range of sports activities and simple movement-based games, equipping them with practical tools they can use in their everyday life and share with peers in their communities. 5. To enhance the capacities of the five partner organizations in planning, organizing, and implementing projects related to sports, physical activity, mental health awareness, and youth wellbeing.
