The project “Visual Tools for Social Inclusion”, designed and implemented by our team, was a training course addressed to youth leaders and youth workers who are actively engaged at both local and international levels. The main focus of the training was to develop participants’ competences in applying visual thinking and graphic facilitation methods in their work, as tools supporting group processes, development, communication, and broadly understood education. Within the training, we focused on the application of graphic facilitation methodology using both traditional and digital approaches. The traditional component included working with flipcharts, large-format paper (roll/plotter), graphic markers, and outliners. In the second part of the project, we concentrated on transferring the acquired knowledge into the use of digital tools, including generative editors based on AI algorithms. This enabled participants to enhance their digital competences, develop skills in digitising created materials, and significantly expand the usability and dissemination of their outputs. Materials that were previously created only with traditional tools, often for one-time use and limited audiences, became reusable, adaptable, and accessible to a wider range of beneficiaries. The main objective of the project was to strengthen participants’ ability to apply visual thinking techniques and principles of graphic facilitation in youth work. Participants developed competences in working with both traditional tools (flipcharts, large-format paper, graphic markers, outliners) and digital tools (graphic tablets and AI-based software). The training programme was designed by our team as an original, tailor-made curriculum. It drew from the evolving field of graphic facilitation, widely applied in education and business and selected methods and best practices particularly relevant to supporting processes typical for non-formal education.
