Objectives

The project emerged from the July initiative "Let HER be" in 2023, focusing on empowering women. During this project, deficiencies in the effectiveness of advocacy campaigns for gender equality and women's empowerment, led by youth non- governmental organizations in various countries, were identified. These issues stem from shortcomings in the skills and capabilities of these organizations to support youth in conducting effective campaigns. The project is a continuation of the actions initiated during "Let HER be" and aims to disseminate its results. In the local context, partners from Spain noted financial difficulties for NGOs, fatigue and burnout among young people engaging in advocacy activities. An organisation from Bulgaria, on the other hand, confronts difficult dialogue with the new government of the country and difficulties in getting involved in the legislative process. Youth from Latvia point out that their voice, especially that of young women, is becoming less and less heard, especially in rural regions. Young activists report deficiencies in activist competences and effective methods of action. Young people from Poland experience a lack of interest and support from the authorities in Toruń and difficulties in acquiring activist know-how in the era of the pandemic. In Italy, young people often lack a sense of agency, making it difficult to engage in social activism. Main goal: Increase the competencies of activists and youth workers in activism and supporting youth in conducting advocacy activities for social inclusion and women's empowerment. Specific objectives: Equip participants (P) and partner organizations (PO) with tools and skills needed to support youth in designing and conducting effective advocacy campaigns and activist activities offline and online to raise awareness about women's empowerment and gender equality in their communities. Better understanding and knowledge of advocacy as a tool for creating a culture of participation among youth and social change in partner countries. Provide participants with space for joint reflection on the effectiveness of conducted advocacy campaigns for women and ways to strengthen them, exchanging best practices regarding advocacy possibilities at the local level. Stimulate creativity and innovation to contribute to the improvement of the quality of advocacy campaigns by promoting the use of innovative and alternative forms of democratic participation, including digital democracy tools. Design advocacy initiatives by participants, with a special focus on the digital sphere, addressing specific issues facing women in partner countries. Strengthen the partnership between organizations from program and Erasmus+ partner countries.
