Objectives

In recent times, global challenges like conflicts, climate crises, and social upheavals have had profound impacts, amplified by social media. Despite its potential, social media often perpetuates negative peace due to a lack of awareness about peace principles. Recognizing this, youth and peace organisations are called to action, leveraging digital tools to promote positive peace and inclusion. With social media's vast reach, there's a unique opportunity for youth to act as responsible peace content creators, influencing peers and driving real-world change. The emergence of influencers and the impact they have on their peers is paramount. Along with the ubiquitousness on online content creation, the hate speech is also on the rise Social media's borderless nature fosters diverse voices and connections, making it pivotal in peacebuilding efforts. As a peace and youth organisation, our focus is on empowering youth workers with digital communication tools. Through training courses, an online peacebuilding campaign, and a Peace INfluencers toolkit, we aim to equip participants with skills to craft impactful digital narratives, enhance mutual understanding, and promote critical thinking and media literacy. Our goal is to establish a community of youth advocating for peace and improving media literacy.
