Objectives

The idea came from our experience from a KA2 Cooperation partnerships in youth project called “Soil Soil Society - holistic approaches for youth development”, co-created during the last two years with partners from Romania (Dreams for Life) and Ireland (Siolta Chroi). As KobieTY we were responsible for “Society” part and we implemented: 1. Training course in the first year to prepare participants (youth workers) and young people they work with to become changemakers and leaders in their own communities, deeply understanding current challenges of local and international societies. 2. Study visits in the second year, visiting local changemakers from Łódź and Koluszki and learning from their experience. Both events had a big response and many organizations, also from other countries contacted us asking about the possibility to join similar activities. Based on that as well as very positive and encouraging evaluation of both events we got inspired to create one training course which will combine learning from both mobilities and prepared outputs on one hand and experiences from that field of partner organizations interested in collaboration on the other hand, providing high quality experience for youth workers from different corners of Europe. We decided to call the project “Butterfly Effect” to underline that even small actions can have a huge impact. We don’t look only for big, elaborate projects, but also for small, everyday engagement, which in the long run can bring enormous changes in us and our societies. Project answers the need of engaging our communities, especially young people, into creating a better world, better society together, where there will be a place for everybody, regardless of their background, origin, experiences or struggles. We want to create inclusive, resilient societies, ready to answer social and environmental challenges we are facing now and we will face even more in the near future. We need to prepare ourselves, our youth workers and young people so we are able to answer any emerging need in a flexible, quick and effective way. During the project participants will create and implement their own projects based on their personal and collective needs, yet the biggest outcomes are the skills themselves. We are living in a fast changing world, which requires quick adaptation and collaboration. No one person will be able to answer all the challenges and issues which already now become overwhelming. We need to learn, network, experiment with possible solutions so in the moment of transition we will be ready to support positive change. What’s more, during one of our last job shadowing experiences we were very inspired by the example of Centro Co.Re from Sao Luis in Portugal which involves many local actors to projects and grants implementation. So far we mostly did our training courses in natural farms, which we see many advantages of, yet after study visits in Łódź we are motivated to bring international projects there and involve the local community directly in project implementation, strengthening local network, promoting Erasmus+ among wider audience and providing financial support to various actors. Objectives: - Reflecting on individual and collective needs of participants, their target groups, communities and organizations. - Preparing social initiatives and projects which answer the identified needs. - Learning specific, tangible tools for needs analysis, project planning, fundraising, promotion and dissemination of ideas, which can be used in direct work with young people. - Getting inspired by real examples of changemakers working on a local, regional, European and global level. - Sharing the learning, experiences and outputs from the "Soil Soul Society project", making them available for youth workers and organizations from other countries. - Strengthening local and international networks and building lasting, resilient collaboration. - Giving visibility and recognition to changemakers, NGO's and social businesses from our local communities. - Promoting international projects and Erasmus+ opportunities by involving the local community into the implementation of the project, modeling similar approaches in partner organization.
