By implementing the project "Exploring EU Integration from a Gen Z Perspective", we aimed to generate lasting and meaningful impact on youth work practices across Europe, while directly empowering youth workers to become agents of democratic values, intercultural dialogue, and innovation. Our ambition was to strengthen the European youth work sector by equipping participants with knowledge, skills, and tools that respond to both historical legacies and contemporary challenges. Our objectives were carefully crafted to address the real needs of youth workers, particularly in countries with a post-communist past, and to prepare them to effectively guide and support Generation Z in navigating the European landscape of today and tomorrow. These objectives were not only fully achieved - they were exceeded thanks to the commitment, energy, and creativity of our team and participants. Specifically, our key objectives included: - Strengthening Youth Work Practices: We provided youth workers with advanced competencies and practical tools to increase the quality, inclusiveness, and relevance of their work with young people. Participants learned how to integrate historical knowledge, democratic values, and digital tools into their daily practice, and their feedback confirmed a significant improvement in their educational impact. - Promoting European Values and Active Citizenship: Through workshops, discussions, and hands-on activities, we deepened the understanding of fundamental European values such as democracy, human rights, solidarity, and rule of law. Youth workers left the project inspired and ready to become multipliers of civic engagement and European identity in their local communities. - Enhancing Intercultural Dialogue and Social Inclusion: We fostered a safe, diverse, and inclusive learning environment where all voices were heard. Participants strengthened their skills in managing diversity, supporting marginalized youth, and designing activities that celebrate difference and build community cohesion. - Driving Innovation in Youth Work: With a strong focus on non-formal education, gamification, and digital literacy, we encouraged the creation of new tools and approaches in youth work. The Gen Z-themed escape room, creative missions, and content co-creation during the training were praised as innovative and highly transferable to participants’ home organisations. - Building a Sustainable European Network: The project successfully connected 6 organisations from across Europe in a deep and collaborative way. Long-term partnerships were established, and new Erasmus+ initiatives are already being planned as a direct result of the connections made during this mobility. - Raising the Recognition of Youth Work: By documenting and sharing our methodology, outcomes, and best practices, we contributed to the wider recognition of youth work as a professional, impactful field essential to shaping the future of Europe. The project's visibility in media and among stakeholders further elevated the status of youth workers involved. - Addressing Historical and Contemporary Challenges: We offered a unique perspective on how the legacy of authoritarian regimes still shapes young people's attitudes and how to counteract that through education. Simultaneously, we tackled current issues like digital transformation, youth disillusionment, and social media influence — making the project extremely timely and resonant. In summary, our objectives were not only met - they were fulfilled with excellence, creativity, and passion. The project generated tangible results, emotional growth, and long-term commitment to positive change in the European youth work landscape.
