Objectives

The main objective of the project was to empower youth workers and representatives of partner organizations to integrate sustainable and regenerative practices into their activities with young people, promoting the creation of new job opportunities dedicated to environmental regeneration and sustainable economies, contributing to a just ecological transition in Europe. The “New Green Jobs” project aimed to create an experiential and intercultural learning space where professionals working with young people could develop practical and theoretical skills in the areas of sustainability, ecological regeneration, and social innovation. It sought to respond to the growing need to prepare young people and their mentors for a future of work aligned with the principles of a true green economy, aligned with the functioning of nature and contemporary environmental and social challenges. The specific objectives of the project were: Strengthen the professional skills of youth workers in the areas of permaculture, agroforestry, ecological soil management, circular economy, group facilitation, and environmental education; Promote non-formal education methodologies centered on active and experiential learning, which foster reflection, creativity, collaboration, and social inclusion; Inspire and support the development of new local and European projects with social and ecological impact, stimulating green entrepreneurship among participants and their organizations; Strengthen international cooperation between youth organizations from different European countries, creating a solid network for sharing best practices and future collaboration; Contribute to ecological regeneration and community development through low environmental impact practices, integration with the local community, and responsible consumption of products and resources. During the project, ReflorestarPT acted as the coordinating organization, ensuring the pedagogical, logistical, and environmental quality of the mobility and guaranteeing that all stages occurred in accordance with the Erasmus+ Youth Quality Standards. The activities were designed to provide comprehensive learning, combining moments of theoretical training, practice, and daily reflection on learning processes, based on the eight key competencies of Youthpass. The methodologies used included non-formal education, experiential learning, permaculture design, sharing circles, daily visual assessments, group dynamics, co-creation moments, and personalized mentoring. The project also aimed to actively contribute to the European Agenda for Youth Work by strengthening quality, innovation, and sustainability in youth work practices. Through direct contact with regenerative methodologies and reflection on the role of youth work in building resilient and sustainable communities, participants became multipliers in their organizations and local communities, leaving inspired to integrate more "know-how" from ecological areas into their daily work. In short, this project sought not only to train more conscious and competent professionals, but also to inspire a movement of ecological and social transformation, strengthening European cooperation around a more sustainable and inclusive common future.
