By implementing this project, we aim to harness the transformative power of digital technologies to foster sustainability across social, environmental, and economic dimensions, with a particular focus on youth engagement and empowerment. Our primary goal is to equip young people and youth workers with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to navigate and actively participate in the digital transition, while ensuring that this transition contributes to a more sustainable and inclusive society. From the perspective of youth work practice, the objectives of the project are multi-layered: Raising awareness of the potential of digital technologies for sustainability: We want to educate youth workers and young people about how digital tools—such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), big data, and the Internet of Things (IoT)—can be leveraged to address pressing sustainability challenges. By doing so, we aim to inspire youth to explore how technology can be applied to fields such as environmental protection, resource management, and sustainable urban development. In youth work practice, this will empower young people to become proactive contributors to sustainability initiatives and strengthen their role in solving global challenges. Promoting digital inclusion and reducing the digital divide: A key objective of this project is to ensure that the benefits of digital advancements are accessible to all young people, especially those from marginalized or underserved communities. By providing youth workers with training and resources, we aim to bridge the digital divide and promote equal access to digital tools and technologies. Fostering active citizenship through digital engagement: We want to encourage young people to become more engaged in their communities and to use digital technologies to advocate for positive social change. By promoting active citizenship based on democratic values and human rights, we aim to inspire youth to take part in decision-making processes and to use digital tools to raise awareness of social issues, participate in dialogue, and influence policy. In youth work practice, this translates into fostering a generation of digitally literate, socially conscious young leaders who can shape a more inclusive and just society. Developing practical tools for youth workers to integrate digital technologies in their work: One of our key objectives is to create a toolkit that will help youth workers effectively use digital tools to promote sustainability in their communities. By doing this, we aim to ensure that the knowledge and skills gained through the project have a lasting impact and can be applied in a variety of contexts to promote sustainable development. Encouraging innovation and creativity in youth work through digital practices: We want to explore and promote innovative approaches to youth work by integrating digital tools into non-formal education. By doing so, we aim to make the learning process more engaging and relevant to today’s digital generation. For example, we plan to incorporate game-based learning, interactive workshops, and digital storytelling into our project, which will not only enhance the learning experience but also help young people develop critical digital and entrepreneurial skills that are vital for the future. Promoting intercultural dialogue and cooperation through digital means: Another key objective is to use digital technologies to foster intercultural understanding and cooperation among young people across different regions and countries. By encouraging youth to collaborate on sustainability-focused projects, we aim to create a network of young people who are connected not only by digital tools but also by shared values of sustainability, inclusion, and mutual respect.
