Life reflects itself in art in every possible way. We need art in our daily lives as it provides us the perfect opportunity, through practising it, to become happier, more creative and to gain soft skills much needed in different aspects of life. Art gives the ideal context of developing creativity, a skill that fades through the year, as a result of relying more and more on AI and having repetitive tasks at work and in the daily life of an individual as well. Creativity, among other soft skills that can be developed through art, are priorities for the EU as well, important especially for youth to develop, for improving the quality of their lives. Our project contributes to the top priorities of the EU related to art and developing creativity for youth - Creative Europe (2021-2027) and the New European Agenda for Culture, promoting the development of creativity through formal and non-formal education. “Life in Art” project is the continuation of “Life is Art”, its creation and implementation being the desire of the 40 young people who participated in the “Life is Art” mobility, in summer 2024. As they observed and as it can be seen from the evaluation done 3 months after the mobility - an improvement in the quality of their lives after their participation in the mobility, some of them starting new hobbies and most of them becoming more creative and happier with their daily lives overall, they proposed a second part of the project, through which they can experience more types of art. Thus, together with the partner organisations with whom we developed the first part of the project and together with 16 interested youngsters who wanted to become volunteers in this process, we thought about implementing a new project: “Life in Art”, that touches new art forms, focused this time on developing digital skills and incorporate technology and digitalisation aspects into art, through: photography, videography, digital painting and sound art. The art forms proposed for this project are based on the ideas of the 40 young people who participated in the mobility of summer 2024. We conducted a survey through which we asked them what types of art they would like to experience in the new opportunity. Most answers were about photography and videography, some giving ideas on digital arts, cinema, video editing or media. The answers can be seen on a word-cloud created by one of the youngsters involved, as a summary of everyone’s ideas: https://voyant-tools.org/?corpus=3aa95f90217cbeab34c0c8ff9d02da5a&visible=175&view=Cirrus. To get another confirmation on the need of developing such skills, through different art forms, during the dissemination events in each community, the youngsters asked the audience formed of other young people about their interest in a similar opportunity on the topic of art, more than 90% of them in each community giving a positive answer. Being part of a society in which we use technology a lot, being incorporated in work life as well, sometimes minimising the use of our own creativity, we proposed that through this project, the participating youngsters would get the chance of practising art forms closely linked to the digital world, learning how to use technology as a way of developing their creativity, rather than relying entirely on AI tools for their tasks. Thus, as for the first part of this project, done in summer 2024, for this one we will collaborate again with the same countries and mostly the same partners from HU, LT, PT and SK to provide 40 youngsters aged 18-25 from our communities with a context to experience other art forms (photography, videography, digital painting, sound art) as they wished for, linking it with the use of diverse digital tools as well. PROJECT GOAL: Improve the level of confidence and creativity among 40 young people aged 18-25 from RO, HU, SK, PT and LT in expressing personal ideas and emotions through visual and auditory art forms, helping them develop a unique artistic voice through non-formal activities, by the end of the project. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: O1. Promote teamwork among the 40 youngsters by working together on activities, enhancing their ability to communicate ideas, share feedback, and combine different art forms, by the end of the project. O2. Develop the technical skills and digital literacy of the 40 participants aged 18-25 from RO, HU, SK, PT and LT by practising videography, photography, sound art and digital painting, which require camera handling, sound editing and post-production techniques, using digital tools, by the end of the project. O3. Develop the competences of participating organisations in implementing art related activities using digital elements for youngsters from their communities until the end of the project. The objectives of “LIA” are linked to the EU priorities mentioned and the objectives of partner organisations. Our project is linked with the European Youth Goals and contributes to the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027.
