Our organizations would like to carry out this project in order to provide our target groups with the opportunity to engage in intercultural learning while experiencing drama as a methodology for exchanging opinions, experiences, constrainsts, and the organization of an already well-established theater festival, where they'll have the chance to act both as performers and as volunteers. With this project, we wish to provide a platform for young people to express themselves creatively, and explore their emotions, ideas, and thoughts in a safe and supportive environment, while helping improve communication skills, and improving their self-esteem and self-assurance. As drama can encourage participants to step into others' shoes and understand different points of view, participants will learn about each other's cultures and perspectives through drama activities aiming on fostering empathy and tolerance. Taking into account the importance of wellbeing and self-care and the need to boost young people’s coping skills, the activities can also serve as a stress-relief outlet, where young people experience drama as a means to cope with stress and other challenges they face. Set in a rural town in Serbia, this project will also address the need for community engagement, as participants will engage with the local community through drama performances and volunteering, while contributing to the promotion of arts and culture and access to it for disadvantaged communities. The general objective of the project is to increase young people 's familiarity with drama as a tool for self and collective expression and intercultural communication The specific objectives are: 1) to support youth leaders from partner organizations in getting to know different drama techniques and how to apply them in intercultural youth work; 2) to apply drama as an effective, accessibile and inclusive tool for intercultural youth groups; 3) to facilitate cooperation and intercultural understanding between youth from diverse backgrounds in volunteering and sociocultural activities: 4) to promote Erasmus + and youth mobility amongst rural youth.
