S.O.1: To promote human rights, equality, and social inclusion among marginalized youth through innovative, art-based practices that transcend language and cultural barriers. S.O.2: To empower and upskill youth workers, educators, and artists by equipping them with non-formal educational methodologies (such as graphic facilitation, stop-motion animation, and game-based learning). S.O.3: To foster active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, and European identity among young people by providing them with creative platforms to express themselves and advocate for their rights. S.O.4: To conduct participatory needs assessment research to identify the real, grassroots barriers faced by migrant communities, compiling these findings into actionable reports and a methodological Casebook for wider European use. S.O.5: To strengthen the capacity of the consortium, particularly the newcomer coordinator (Nordkonst), through peer-to-peer exchange, enhancing their ability to manage European projects and build sustainable transnational networks.
This project was initiated to address the challenges faced by young people in Europe (particularly those with migrant and refugee backgrounds) who are at a high risk of poverty, social exclusion, and discrimination. These young people frequently encounter systemic barriers related to belonging, equality, language, and participation, resulting in profound social isolation and limited opportunities for civic engagement. Concurrently, youth workers often lack accessible, creative tools to teach complex topics like human rights, equality, and European identity in ways that are engaging and trauma-informed. To tackle these issues, the consortium, consisting of Nordkonst (Sweden, a newcomer to Erasmus+ coordination), TEIS (Hungary), and Eurobug (Ireland), collaborated to bridge the gap between art and youth work. The project utilized art-based, non-formal education (NFE) methods (such as visual storytelling, animation, and creative walks) as a universal language to empower vulnerable youth. By equipping educators with these innovative methodologies, the project created inclusive, welcoming spaces that fostered intercultural dialogue, psychological well-being, and active citizenship.
