Objectives

Project partners and our young members are aware that a sustainable and environmentally friendly lifestyle is becoming increasingly important in a time of excessive consumerism. Several partner organisations are active in raising awareness about sustainable and eco-friendly living, and some even work directly in the fields of waste reduction and waste processing. Through this, we are strongly aware that changing the mindset of young people requires long-term awareness-raising, encouragement, and guidance so that they too become active in reducing and reusing waste materials. Within this project, we wanted to give young participants the opportunity to gain a better understanding of sustainable and environmentally friendly lifestyles, as well as to learn how to create various products from waste materials, enabling them to contribute to reducing the amount of waste themselves. One of our main goals was also to create suitable results that both the partner organisations and the project participants could use to raise awareness and encourage other organisations and young people in our communities to adopt a sustainable and environmentally friendly way of life. We believe that this project has been very beneficial for all participants, as it has helped the involved organisations and young people gain a better understanding of sustainable and eco-friendly living. Through the project, we also enabled young participants to strengthen and develop their key competences, and to acquire new knowledge, skills, and abilities. We familiarised the young participants with the importance of planning and recognising learning outcomes, as well as recording the competences they had gained. We consider this especially important for young people with fewer opportunities, which is why we placed particular emphasis on including them in the project activities. The project has had a positive impact on all participating organisations. We recognise that we, as organisations, must also work on expanding our horizons and acquiring new knowledge and ideas, which we can then pass on to our young members and support them in facing everyday challenges.
