With this project, we aimed to address the lack of competencies among youth workers, who often face challenges when supporting young people in identifying their career paths, recognising their potential and shaping their life goals. Our intention was to strengthen their skills, knowledge and confidence so they can offer young people higher‑quality, more holistic and long‑term effective support. The project was designed to provide 24 youth workers with an in‑depth understanding of life purpose and its connection to employability and early school leaving, while equipping them to support young people in defining their personal mission and recognising their interests, values and strengths. In this way, we sought to contribute to more successful career pathways, greater personal fulfilment and a reduced risk of dropping out of education. The project aimed to improve key competencies of youth workers, particularly in the areas of reflection, communication, career‑development activities and supporting young people in identifying their potential. An important part of the objectives was to deepen their understanding of the links between vocational training, the labour market and young people’s life goals, enabling them to provide more informed, targeted and long‑term support in career decision‑making. We placed special emphasis on strengthening the capacity to work with young people with fewer opportunities, especially those from rural areas, marginalised groups or financially disadvantaged backgrounds, as we wanted to contribute to a more inclusive, fair and supportive society. Through this project, we aimed to raise the quality of youth work, improve the employability of young people and strengthen connectedness within the community. In the long term, the project contributes to greater social cohesion, better support for young people in their transition to adulthood and more successful integration into both career and personal life.
