The International Wood Badge Course 2025 project aims to provide an experiential learning experience for members of different Scout organisations in Europe, enabling them to transfer new skills to their local and national environments and to bring together smaller national Scout organisations that find it difficult to provide quality Wood Badge training on their own, either due to fewer members, fewer trainers or lack of experience. The training prepares participants to manage volunteers, deliver a quality programme to members, implement quality processes within the organisation and question the place of the individual (participant) within Scouting through an understanding of the key ideas of the Scout Movement (Mission, Values, Method). The international dimension of the training adds value to the experience as it greatly increases the breadth of ideas and strategies to address similar challenges. The objectives of the project are - Participants implement their personal projects - Participants set goals for their actions within the organisation - Participants gain skills and tools to manage a group of volunteers - Participants learn about the mission and values of the Scout Movement and the Scout Method. - Participants remain active volunteers in the organisation for at least two years after participating in the project.
