Objectives

The idea for the project came from the theatre workshops we have run in the past years and from the experience of the successful organisation and delivery of the ACT' training in 2024. The objectives of the training are to: - to run a 6-day programme for 25 participants who, through experiential and non-formal learning, will learn about a variety of theatre methods and tools for promoting active citizenship, which they will be able to apply in their own work with young people; - design, conceptualise and implement a theatre intervention and a theatre performance on the theme of active citizenship with the participants, which will take place in a public space in Maribor. The performance will be designed in a way that can be prepared (and adapted if necessary) by the participants in their own organisations and performed in the organisations and communities where they work. - 25 participants will be issued with a Youthpass certificate - create a Google Docs document describing the methods, tools and exercises from the training as a result of the project and share it freely with the participating organisations; - strengthen a network of individuals from different countries, backgrounds and organisations who will promote the use of theatre methods in order to promote active citizenship in youth work. The training will equip participants with skills and knowledge covering a range of diverse and creative methods, techniques, exercises and tools in the fields of interactive physical theatre, buffoon theatre, improvisational theatre and theatre of the oppressed, which will directly or indirectly encourage active participation in the group and the community, as well as contributing to creative expression and to the enhancement of physical and mental health. We will create a comfortable and safe environment for group work, based on non-hierarchy; informal conversations and socialising will be part of the training.
